The Antartica Story


Antartica Foods brand was crated and established in 1986 by Manuel Sanchez and his two sons, Gene and Ricardo, who started trading Seafood in the USA.  After a short time Manuel foresaw the opportunity to bring great quality Seafood from his homeland of Chile.  The family began exporting seafood from Chile and importing to the United States.  By 1994 due to customer demand, the Sanchez family created its own processing plant in Chile, producing “only the best for you” canned and frozen seafood products, designed specifically to meet the needs of our valued customers.

For more than 30 years Chilemar, our Import and Distribution Company has been servicing the Hispanic and american trade, first in California and now all over the United States, with seafood products that are part of the Hispanic culinary lifestyle.

In 2001, Chilemar began its Antartica brand presence with products for Food Service distribution, and due to the addition of “only the best for you” new products, the market reach has widened with more customers and distributors partnering with Antartica brand products and its competitive advantages.

Now the Antartica Brand is a recognized brand along the Food Service industry making a difference in it with products that have been processed, exported and Imported by the same family run business thereby, controlling costs and passing the savings on to the end users.

Currently the Antartica Brand is a registered Trade Mark and it is available across the U.S. for Food Service Distribution and also for Third Party Branding.
